Questions

How do I open a QBO file in Excel?

Excel cannot open .qbo files directly. Convert the file to CSV here, then open the CSV in Excel. If you want a formatted spreadsheet, use the QBO to Excel converter instead.

Can I get separate debit and credit columns?

Yes. Turn on "Separate Debit and Credit columns" before downloading. Otherwise you get one Amount column with negative numbers for money out.

Which date format will the CSV use?

MM/DD/YYYY by default. You can switch to DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD before downloading.

Does this work with OFX and QFX files too?

Yes. QBO, OFX and QFX share the same format, so any of them converts to CSV here.

Is the QBO file uploaded to your server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser and your file stays on your computer.
